Cookie Policy

Effective date: 11 June 2026 · Last updated: 11 June 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, and understand how you use it. This policy covers cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) used across bookaiq.com and app.bookaiq.com, operated by Xaiotech Pty Ltd ABN 63 821 547 002 trading as Bookaiq (“Bookaiq,” “we,” “us”).

2. How We Use Cookies

Bookaiq uses a small number of cookies, all first-party. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or fingerprinting technologies. On our public marketing website (bookaiq.com), the only cookie we set is a strictly necessary country-preference cookie.

3. Cookies We Set

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (always active)

These are required for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

3.2 Consent records (localStorage, not cookies)

We store your consent choices in your browser’s localStorage so we do not show you the same notice repeatedly. These values never leave your device.

3.3 Attribution cookie (set only with your consent)

Public booking pages can use a first-party visitor identifier to help the business you are booking with understand where its bookings come from (for example, a link on Instagram versus a direct visit). It is first-party only and does not track you across other websites.

CookiePurposeDurationSet on

This cookie is set only after you choose Accept on the notice shown at the bottom of the booking page. If you choose “No thanks,” no identifier cookie is set; the visit is still counted server-side (so the business sees accurate visit totals), but without any persistent identifier attached to you.

3.4 Cookies set by sub-processors

Our service providers may set cookies in the course of providing the Service:

ProviderCookiePurpose
Supabasesb-* auth cookiesAuthentication session management
StripeStripe session cookiesPayment form security — only when a card payment form loads during booking

4. Third-Party Cookies

We do not load third-party advertising, social-media, or analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar). If this changes, we will update this policy and request your consent before loading non-essential third-party cookies.

5. Your Choices

5.1 Marketing site banner

When you first visit bookaiq.com, we display a cookie notice. The marketing site uses only the strictly necessary cookies in Section 3.1, so accepting or declining does not change what is set there today — the banner records your preference for any non-essential cookies we might introduce in the future, which would load only if you have accepted.

5.2 Booking-page attribution notice

On a business’s public booking page, a separate compact notice asks whether the attribution cookie (Section 3.3) may be set. Choose Accept to allow it or No thanks to decline. Your choice persists in your browser. To change it later, clear your browser data for app.bookaiq.com.

5.3 Browser settings

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions

Note: blocking all cookies may prevent you from signing in or using the Service. Browsing in private/incognito mode also prevents persistent cookies from being kept.

6. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Signals

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry-standard protocol for DNT, we do not alter our practices in response to it — but since we use no third-party tracking, the practical effect is limited. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is no sale or sharing for opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control to switch off.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie notice and/or email. The “Last updated” date indicates the most recent revision.
