Using Bookaiq with Claude and ChatGPT
Let your AI assistant check your calendar, find open times, and book, reschedule or cancel appointments — with the same rules as your Bookaiq dashboard.
The Bookaiq connector lets Claude (claude.ai, Cowork, Claude Desktop and Claude Code) or ChatGPT work with your Bookaiq workspace. Ask in plain language — “what’s on tomorrow?”, “find Emma a slot next Tuesday morning”, “move my 2pm to Thursday” — and the assistant uses Bookaiq to answer or make the change.
Connector URL: https://app.bookaiq.com/api/mcp
Before you start
- You need a Bookaiq account (any plan, including the free trial) and the owner or admin role in your workspace. Other roles can’t connect an assistant.
- You need an account with the assistant you want to use — Claude or ChatGPT.
Connect Claude (claude.ai, Cowork, Claude Desktop)
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors (or Customize → Connectors).
- Choose Add custom connector, name it Bookaiq, and paste
https://app.bookaiq.com/api/mcp. - Click Connect. You’ll be taken to Bookaiq — sign in if asked.
- Check the consent screen: it names your workspace and says “Sends you back to claude.ai”. Click Allow access.
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors.
- Under Advanced, turn on Developer mode, then choose Create.
- Paste
https://app.bookaiq.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth for authentication, and save. - Sign in to Bookaiq and click Allow access on the consent screen (it should say it sends you back to chatgpt.com).
Connect Claude Code
- Run
claude mcp add --transport http bookaiq https://app.bookaiq.com/api/mcp. - In Claude Code, run
/mcp, choose bookaiq and sign in. Your browser opens the Bookaiq consent screen — click Allow access.
What your assistant can do
Look things up
- See appointments and time off for any day or week, for the whole team or one person.
- Find real open times for a service, using the same availability as your booking page.
- Search customers and appointments, and open an appointment’s full details.
- List your services and any booking requests waiting for approval.
Make changes (if you allowed changes when connecting)
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments.
- Mark appointments confirmed, in progress, completed or no-show.
- Add internal notes, and approve or decline booking requests.
- Block out time for a team member.
Every change follows your normal rules — working hours, time off, conflict checks, deposits and your cancellation policy — and customers get the same emails they would from the dashboard. The assistant will ask you to confirm before it changes anything. Times are always in your business’s timezone.
It can’t send SMS, change team members’ roles or access, touch billing or payments, or connect other assistants.
Try asking
- “What’s on my calendar tomorrow?”
- “Find an open time for an initial consult next Tuesday at the clinic.”
- “Book Emma Wilson into the first free slot on Thursday morning.”
- “Move Liam’s appointment to 2:30pm the same day.”
- “Are any bookings waiting for approval?”
- “Block out Dan’s Friday afternoon next week.”
Privacy and security
- The assistant acts as you, with your permissions. Access is checked on every request — if you’re removed from the workspace or are no longer an owner or admin, it stops working straight away.
- Bookaiq never sees your conversation with the assistant — only the individual requests it makes. Data it reads is sent to the assistant’s provider under their own privacy policy.
- Changes made through the assistant are recorded in your workspace’s audit log.
See section 10c of our Privacy Policy for the full details.
How to disconnect
- In Bookaiq, go to Settings → AI assistants.
- Find the connection and click Disconnect. Access stops within about 30 seconds.
- (Optional) Remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT too.
Need help?
If the connection fails, try connecting again and finish the sign-in within a few minutes — assistants cancel a connection that sits waiting too long. Still stuck? Visit our Help Centre or contact support@bookaiq.com.
