Bookaiq vs EzLicence

An EzLicence alternative for instructors who want to stay independent

Established instructors whose diary is already full of their own learners, who are watching a quarter of every marketplace lesson leave in commission and want their brand — not a platform’s — on every booking, email and reminder.

Where EzLicence is genuinely strong

EzLicence is a genuine learner-acquisition channel — Australia’s largest driving-lesson marketplace, and a real way for a new instructor to fill an empty diary fast.

What Bookaiq does differently

A flat subscription, not a percentage

Bookaiq costs a flat amount per month (from A$15, GST included) no matter how many lessons you teach. There is no commission on any booking, and no separate rate for learners you win yourself.

Your name on every email

Booking confirmations and reminders can send from your own business email address (Google or Microsoft) — every message a learner receives builds your school’s name.

Your SMS account, at carrier cost

Connect your own Twilio or Bird account for lesson reminders and pay carrier rates directly — your messaging is never marked up or resold.

Independent of anyone’s marketplace

Bookaiq runs no learner marketplace, so it is never your competitor for the same students. Your learner list is fully exportable, the API is open on Pro, and there is no contract.

Lesson packages with a visible balance

Sell a block of identical lessons up front; each booking draws the balance down automatically and the learner can see what’s left.

When to stay with EzLicence

We would rather you pick the right tool than churn in three months. Stay where you are if any of these describe you:

  • EzLicence brings you learners — it is a marketplace with real demand, and Bookaiq deliberately is not. If your diary is empty, their channel can fill it.
  • Their platform handles learner-side test-package logistics that a generic booking tool does not attempt.
  • Their free instructor tool costs $0 up front, which is hard to beat on sticker price if commission economics don’t bother you.

Pricing

EzLicence charges instructors 25% commission of the hourly rate on marketplace lessons, and offers a separate free instructor tool priced at $0 plus 2.4% on payments taken through it (checked 12 Aug 2026).
